One note from the "radio with pictures" side, as The Tribune Company
announced it will purchase WTTV (Channel 4, Bloomington) and its sister
WTTK (Channel 29, Kokomo) from Sinclair for $125 million. The
Indianapolis Star's Marc Allan points out that this sale will create a
duopoly in Indy, as Tribune also owns FOX affiliate WXIN (Channel 59,
Indianapolis).
Southcentral
Afternoon guy C.J. Miller slides to mornings at Country/WKKG (101.5fm,
Columbus). He replaces Mike Patrick, who departed in February.

Chief Engineer and Operator
WICR-FM/University of Indianapolis Television will have an opening for the
position of Chief Engineer and Operator in June 2002. Position is
responsible for the technical operation of a Class B FM public radio
station as well as a small television production facility. CE must also
be able to train broadcast students and station staff members in the
operation of radio and TV equipment, supervise and instruct students
interested in broadcast engineering; teach selected technology related
courses in the Department of Communication; and provide technical and
computer support for department faculty and operations.
Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Radio/TV, Telecommunications, or a
related area, minimum of three years of experience in broadcast
engineering, commercial or public broadcasting operations, or a related
field. Experience in RF transmission, digital audio and video computer
editing systems, and computer networking and common applications is
required, as well as knowledge of the FCC rules and regulations for
operating a full-power FM station. Previous teaching or training
experience is desirable.
