Station History

WAMW(AM)

1580am signed on in January 1955. WAMW(AM) & FM were sold by Greene Electronics to DLC Media, Inc.. An LMA began on September 1, 2001. On October 1, 2003, WAMW (AM) changed formats from Salem Radio Network's "Solid Gospel" to their "Today's Christian Music" format. The contemporary Christian format ended in September 2004, with a format change to standards. The LMA became a finalized sale to DLC Media, Inc. on March 20, 2008.

WAMW-FM

107.9fm signed on November 20, 1989. February 2000 brought a call-letter change: WAMW-FM changed calls to WYER. An LMA began with DLC Media, Inc. on September 1, 2001. WAMW-FM changed calls again in October 2001, back to WAMW-FM. Greene Electronics sold WAMW(AM) and FM to DLC Media, Inc.. The LMA became a finalized sale to DLC Media, Inc. on March 20, 2008.
