Station History

96.7fm signed on September 3, 1980. It was formerly an Adult Contemporary station. Known as "The Frog", WAXT was sold (along with WHBU) to Michael Schwartz's Indiana Radio Partners in November, 1998 for an estimated $2 million. After the sale, the station changed format to Hot AC and the calls changed in January, 1999 to WHTI.
