WBIW(AM) signed on in October, 1948. It was originally owned by Carl Finger, Bill Smith, and Harold Rothrock. The station originally broadcasted out of a building that belonged to Carl Finger. WBIW was owned (with sister WBIF [now WQRK]) by the Bedford Broadcasting Corporation.
