Station History

WHBU signed on in April 1923. In 1930, it was on the air at 1210am (100 watts). Was a CBS affiliate. The Anderson Broadcasting Corp. once owned WHBU. WHBU was sold (along with nee WAXT in November 1998 to Michael Schwartz's Indiana Radio Properties for an estimated $2 million. In July 2001, Sabre Communications made an $8 million purchased of nee WHTI, nee WHTY, WERK, WURK and WHBU from Michael Schwartz' Indiana Radio Partners.
