Station History

WLBC(AM)

1340am signed on in November 1926. By the 1930's, it was sharing time with WJAK. After the share-time ended, musical formats included standards and country & western music. WLBC(AM) is now WXFN. The current studios are the seventh location where the station has been over the years.

WLBC-FM

104.1fm signed on in October 1947. WLBC-FM was sold along with sister WXFN by DRMS Communications to Sabre Communications in January 1999 for $4 million for both stations. WLBC along with its sister stations were sold again to Backyard Broadcasting in December 2002.
