WQKC(AM)
1450am signed on June 26, 1961. 1450am in Jeffersonville was originally WAVE(AM), and sister to NBC affiliate WAVE-TV
(Channel 3, Louisville, Kentucky). Formerly . When 1450am gained call letters WQKC, they aired a Sports format
("Sports Radio 1450" then "ESPN 1450 The Ticket"). After Cumulus Media, Inc. did not find a buyer, 1450am went
silent in August 2010.
WQKC-FM
93.7fm signed on February 23, 1961. Formerly WJCD-FM. Corum Enterprises sold WQKC
to Sunnyside Communications in April 1998. The sale, which included sister stations
WAVG(AM), and WZZB-FM for a combined $134,200. Susquehanna
Radio Corp. purchased WQKC in March 2001.
