Station History

WWSY signed on September 12, 1996. Formerly WAGD. Sold by Hester Broadcasting Corp. to Bright Tower Communications, Inc. in June 1999 for $665,000 plus $250,000 consulting agreement. Bright Tower changed the calls from WTHC to WWSY in November 1999. On Friday 8 March 2002 at Noon, WWSY flipped formats from AC to Hot AC, as "Y-96 Energy Radio." WWSY was sold by Bright Tower Communications, Inc. to Midwest Communications in March 2005 (along with sister WMGI) for $3.39 million.
