novel

My recently completed novel, "Don't Cry for Me, Chula Vista," runs 100,000 words. Look for excerpts here at some point in the future. So, what's it about? Glad you asked:

"Don't Cry for Me, Chula Vista" is a slice of suburban teenage life set in mid-70s Southern California: Julie Thompson is on a single-minded quest to reinvent herself from hapless dork into cool chick. As if being an adolescent stuck in tract-home hell isn't hard enough, she's got to deal with family secrets, Jehovah's Witnesses, keggers, horny guys, clueless boyfriends, drooling geriatrics, bad trips and getting sucked into a big-time drug smuggling ring. Maybe being cool isn't all it's cracked up to be.
