We are currently living in Los Alamos, New Mexico, 35 miles from Sanat Fe. Why? Let me quote:

NM's capital city was selected as the 2nd most popular travel city in the country after San Francisco. Nearly 28K readers of the travel magazine voted for their favorite travel cities, islands, airlines, hotels and other travel-service providers. In addition, Los Alamos proper was selected as the "number one" place to live in the country according to a 2005 MSNBC survey that looked at approximately 50 parameters that were considered important to quality of life. When a position opened up with a previous employer to work at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Jenny and I jumped at the opportunity, and here we are. It is a beautiful place to live and raise our sons, Jacques and Avery. It is not perfect, but we prefer it as a welcome change of pace to Chicago.
