Whale Watch '06
A humpback whale surfaces in the waters off Maui's Kaanapali Beach.
In January, humpback whales travel from the cold waters of Alaska to the
warm currents of the Hawaiian Islands. Here off the coast of Maui they
calve and breed for three months, returning to Alaska at the end of March.
We timed our trip to coincide with whale-watching season.
