The Carter Family:

The Original Carter Family, consisting of Sara, Maybelle, and A.P. Carter, are known as the founding family of Country Music. The women of the Carter Family, Sara and Maybelle , and their daughters Helen, Anita, June, and Janette, have each contributed significantly to instrumental and singing styles in country music. Since 1927., their music has been sung and performed all over the world. Songs like "Will the Circle Be Unbroken", and "Wabash Cannonball" and "Keep on the Sunnyside" have become folk classics.
