Buffalo management is still a hot topic these days in the greater Yellowstone area, and nationally now, after seeing all those images of dead slaughtered buffalos a couple of years ago in the news.
The US Dept of the Interior has released the Draft EIS for the Interagency Bison Management Plan for the State of Montana and Yellowstone National Park. It was available online via the web at: http://www.nps.gov/planning/current.htm, in HTML and PDF format.
Public comments were accepted via the web or mail until October 16, 1998 for the great bison slaughter of the last century. It's long past that, but there are other Draft EIS available there for comment and review. You might want to have a look if can find them on teir re-organized web site.
Current buffalo killing and hazing status reports are available from the Buffallo Field Campaign link below.
