These prints are produced from high resolution scans of original 35mm Kodachrome transparencies. Two separate scanning devices have been used to date: ICG Drum Scan @5000dpi, and Nikon Super Coolscan 4000ED scanner @4000dpi.

Each Lightjet digital print is produced to match the original Kodachrome transparency as closely as possible. Nothing is digitally added, or taken away from the original photograph.

The photographs are custom printed on FujiColor Crystal Archive extended life color paper to insure years of display without fading. Print display life is estimated at 60 years. The prints are created using the LightJet 5000 high resolution digital laser enlarger.

Accelerated light fading tests conducted by Wilhelm Imaging Research predict a display life of 60 years for FujiColor Crystal Archive Paper, compared to 29 years for Ilfochrome and 14 years for contemporary Ektacolor prints. These tests are based on standard indoor display conditions of 450 lux from glass-filtered fluorescent light on for half the day.

Good, directed color neutral lighting is necessary for proper viewing and display of these prints. You might want to visit Bulbs.Com and order a Halogen light bulb for them. Or pick one up locally. But the important point to note is that these prints look best in good light.

A LightJet custom print normally ship within two weeks of receipt of order payment. An unprocessed image will require additional delivery time.

While providing a good reference, the JPG images on this website will render neither the detail, nor the exact colors and luminosity of the prints. We are sure that you will be pleased with the quality of the LightJet digital prints, and offer the following as a return policy:

If you are dissatisfied for any reason, simply return the print within thirty days for a full refund. Before doing so, please notify us first, and let us know of any problems with your print order.
