I took this photograph of clouds at Mammoth Hot Springs at the start of a long spiritual trek looking for the soul of America in June, 1982. This image, along with a recurring dream of time led me to the primal threads of human life, as practiced in New Mexico. I like this image for several reasons - first and foremost, it reminds me of my experience of being there, and being asorbed completely within that space. Secondly, it showed me that the world arround me was more alive, and consciously sentient than I had ever suspected. If you look closely you may notice that too.
