My dear Scumbucket --
Among your ever-increasing caseload of clients, it seems, there are still some who insist on harboring feelings of optimism about the state of the world they inhabit. As we have discussed before, this tends to undermine our efforts to guide them towards despair and hopelessness, and is generally unacceptable. In recent months, they have been able to look upon developments in the Middle East, Northern Ireland, and elsewhere, and form the ridiculous notion that humans might somehow figure out how to reconcile their differences.
I do hope that you are taking advantage of the wonderful work that is being done by our operatives, agents, and dupes around the world to put a stop to this nonsense. In the past few weeks, we have managed to derail just about every major peace process afoot on the planet, and some truly inspired mischief by our Caribbean and East Asian divisions have actually added new hotspots to the map of anxiety.
Waste no time. Work on this diligently. Constantly remind your subjects that warfare, pestilence, and famine are the lot of humanity, and that atrocities are the norm rather than the exception. Keep them uneasy, ever on the lookout but never able to focus on one clear threat. Above all, banish thoughts of reconcilation and (ugh) forgiveness from their minds and hearts. Revenge, hatred, fear -- these are, as the saying goes, among our chief weapons.
As ever,
Screwdisk
