The Shelby American Factory


Production of the Cobra and the Shelby Mustang GT 350 is carried out

in Shelby American's new 12 1/2-acre facility on the south side of Los Angeles 

International Airport. The plant is flanked on the left in this aerial 

photograph by West Imperial Highway and on the right by the airport main

runway. The Pacific Ocean is in the background.

Looking at the actual photo, it becomes apparent that of the cars parked in rows behind the facility, there are maybe 40+ GT models lined up in the sun, with about 25 AC bodies down at the far end. The Santa Monica hills are just barely visible through the haze in the upper right.
