Port destructor instrumentation changes into ClearCase and create a buildable unified widget parser source code set. Partial and ongoing.
Involves:
Set up meeting to resolve ClearCase problems, got help from Reza and Yuri that got me off "stuck".
As I get closer to finishing the code changes, more meetings to plan build, testing, and production are going to be needed. I'm the one to get these going.
One open issue is whether to force uWidgetParser to fail, or just to see it running happily, and go on updating more major apps not currently under active work to include the destructor changes, until something drops a working core file. This is probably a Marty call.
Comment: Doing uWidgetParser already means that libebaycore.a's and libwidgets.a's source files will have been changed.
I'll need help to do my own testing of uWidgetParser before handing it on to QA and the build team. I'll go to Boris for this help.
Similarly, I'll need help about how to do a build at all under ClearCase; are we still using gmake, or have we gone to clearmake? Probably Boris again for help here.
Lastly, I've read the documentation provided by SCM for the clearcase merge, and the cleartool man pages, and I'm missing some vital concept again, the parts described don't fit together into a working whole for me. I'll chase Reza down for help with this.
I should finish the needed hand patching for the dtor changes and check them in as a new baseline, then start doing the needed specializations for uWidgetParser. Confidence about 80%.
The bad news is, I can't sit up for more than a couple of hours at a time without being overtaken by exhaustion; the good news is, I got new, computer user specific reading glasses, and can see the screen without provoking a crick in my neck for the first time since my late 20's.
