SAINT NILUS OF SORA
[Quoted in Saint John of Damascus, Concerning the Orthodox Faith, Title XXVII De eunuchis, containing a brief collection of citations pertaining to eunuchs in prior Christian literature. The other entries were Wisdom of Solomon 3:14, Wisdom of Sirach 20:4, Matthew 19:12, and an excerpt from Basil the Great's letter to Simplicia, all of which have their own entries in the Born Eunuchs Library.]
S. Nilus.--Keep the clattering of eunuchs away from your wife. For although a eunuch seems to have the twin testes cut out below, he has the twin eyes in his head above, that gaze with desire and carry off with them their wicked observations.
