Saturday 6
BACDS Family Week '96 begins at Alta Sierra (in the Sierra Foothills near King Canyon Natl Park), and there's still room for late registrants! The camp runs through Satuday the 13th and features contras, squares, English, Scottish and ritual country dance for all ages, along with music, stories and folk crafts. Second Saturday contradance at PA. Eric Black calls to a wonderful band, made up of staffers from Family Week and Sierra Swing: Steve Hickman (Virginia), Cathie Whitesides (Seattle), & Daniel Steinberg
San Francisco English dance at BMC (starts at 7:30pm). Bruce Hamilton calls and teaches all dances with music by Stan & Susan Kramer and David Mostardi.
BACDS English Week begins, and runs through the morning of Saturday the 20th at the Mendocino Woodlands. The week features English dancing, great music, singing, delicious food, & merry abandon; call 415-856-3038 for info.

A special evening of contradancing at SF, with Brad Foster (ex-president of BACDS, current president of CDSS. He knows how to call, too!) and the mighty duo of Mary Lea and Peter Barnes (of Yankee Ingenuity, BLT and Bare Necessities ... the fiddle/piano linchpin of the Boston and beyond).
