The San José English Dance returns from its summer sabbatical, with an opening party featuring Jody McGeen, Alisa Dodson and Cynthia Stenger leading dances, with music by Kay Thorne and Stan Kramer.
The first Wednesday contradance at NGC in Berkeley. Dynamite caller Kathy Anderson from Dayton, and music by Western Massachussetts marvels David Kaynor and Stuart Kenney, joined by locals Patti Walters, & Craig Johnson.
Friday 6
The first Friday English dance at MT, with Bob Fraley leading dances and music by the Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan Kramer and Stan Kramer).
Saturday 7
First Saturday contra at SF: featuring Kathy Anderson and music by The Guppies (Kathrine Gardner, Craig Johnson, & Jim Oakden)
Sunday 8
East Bay Square/Contra dance at 7:00pm , ECV. Kathy Anderson calls in her final Bay Area appearance this tour, with hot old-time music by Suzy Thompson, Maxine Gerber, & Kate Brislin.
Wednesday 11
Second Wednesday English country dance at NGC. Alisa Dodson teaches dances with music by Chuck Ward, David Strong, & Allen Dodson.
Friday 13
Another triskaidekaphobe's special! East Bay contra at FIN. Kirston Koths calling, with music by the ever-hot Hillbillies from Mars (Ray Bierl, Kevin Carr, Paul Kotapish and Daniel Steinberg).
Saturday 14
Second Saturday Family dance at PA. Dance starts at 5pm, with a potluck dinner at 6:30. Bob Fraley &Joyce Uggla call dances for all ages, with music by Ruth Anne Fraley, and Stan & Susan Kramer.
Following that at PA is the 8pm Palo Alto contradance. Eric Black calls, with music by the Moving Cloud Orchestra (Paul Kotapish, Paul Machlis, & Laura Risk).
In San Francisco, there's the 7:30pm English countrydance, at its new home, BMC. Alisa Dodson teaches all dances, with music by Allen Dodson, Anise Feldman, Craig Johnson, & friends.
Wednesday 18
East Bay contradance in Berkeley at NGC. Special guest calller Suzanne Girardot (one of Seattle's faves), with music by an open band hosted by The Compound Meters (Robin Flower, Libby McLaren & Erik Hoffman).
In San José, there's an English country dance at SJS. Series programmer Jody McGeen leads the dances, Kay Thorne & Stan Kramer provide the music.
