The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)

MAPS is a non-profit organization devoted to the scientific study of psychedelic drugs, particularly MDMA, marijuana, and LSD. Through donations, member dues, and the sale of scientific papers, MAPS supports research leading to further knowledge about the psychological and neurological effects of psychedelics.

Current research is being conducted in Baltimore, MD, on the psychological and neurological effects of MDMA on humans -- Subjects are needed!!!! All expenses to, from, and in Baltimore are paid by MAPS and a $400 stipend is provided to all participants. The tests take about 3 days and include blood tests, psychological tests, and a spinal tap. Future studies are planned in Switzerland where experimentation with certain psychedelics is supported by the government.

MAPS has a Drug Master File for MDMA at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

To support the search for truth through scientific exploration, you may order a copy of the following papers at low cost:

"MDMA - Risk Assessment and the FDA" explores the data concerning the effect of MDMA on body and brain.

"Regulation or Prohibition? MDMA research in Switzerland and the United States", examines the legal MDMA research in Switzerland.

"The Medical use of Marijuana", outlines the current status of the use of marijuana as a medicine.

All three papers by Rick Doblin, Master in Public Policy student at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Papers are available from MAPS for $7.50 each.

Annual memberships, including newsletters, are available for $25 per person. Tax deductible donations in support of the research are also greatly appreciated.
