What Happens During the Cycles?

• animals eat what ever they can find including less favored foods
• animals not hunted suffer and may become extinct since the proximate cause of extinction is starvation.
• surviving animals have maximum efficiency in food use and reproduction - ruminants as opposed to monogastrics, small as opposed to large animals.

• loss of woodland where ruminant grazers survive - the plains
• increase in contentality due to loss transpired moisture from trees on the plains
• increase in fire due increased thunderstorm activity due to loss of friction from trees on the plains
• spread of unbroken woodland from mountain refugia along the coasts.
