Disturbances in the Predator / Prey / Vegetation Relationship
The stable model of the food for herbivores, herbivore, predator produces three straight lines. (Values are based on Whittington and Dyke and hunting rate for predators is dependent on how many predators there are in the system - more predators more kills).
Graph Ecosystem Returns to Normal after a Disturbance of 1.5%, shows the effect of a pulse reduction in predator population and demonstrates the dynamic stability of the model
- all other components of the model are affected by a disturbance to one component and
- the system quickly returns to normal.
This would be pre-contact situation before H. sapiens enters the New World - ecological stability.
