Input and baseline values used by Whittington and Dyke (1989) are based on:

human population density on estimates of human density in Europe at the end of the Upper Paleolithic and the initial population size from Budyko (1967, 1974), and

human population growth rate as the maximum doubling rate for a human population entering a previously unoccupied but favorable environment on Birdsell (1957)(Whittington & Dyke 1989)

all other input values were based on Mossiman and Martin (1975) See table 1.
