11 am pick up Hertz rental car

---> Malestroit - tourist office: "trying hard" - medieval center - having contest to attract

---> Rennes - Tandoori in old town - got badly lost

Wednesday, Oct 6 -

Port de Plaisance: salade marine & gigot d'aigneau (quite good)
Presqu'il de Conleau: Hotel de Roof $78 view - walk along water [STARRED] - gorgeous sunshine!

Thursday, Oct 7 -
Drove around Presque'il - Ruys
Sarzeau - flea market in town center - got map from immobilier - Viet food.
---> north coast of gulf (oyster farms)
---> Arzon (Port de Plaisance)
---> south coast
La Saline & to the east: Castle de Susciné - go back for books
---> Penzin: Hotel Mur de Roy (sat on plage)
gourmet dinner! cidre, bran bread rolls, appetizer: sardines + cream of artichoke, soup: huitres, agneau, roti camembert + salad, pear with chocolate sauce + ice cream + whip cream - mint tea (+ morsels of fruitcake, marshmallow, chocolate with graham & guava jam) ahhhhh - but too full.

Friday, Oct 8 -
Drove east towards Muzillac (more farmland), then north (through Questembert) to Rochefort-en-Terre (beautiful cité de charactere - well-preserved and kept ancient center, nice tourist office.
12:00 grill: salad and lamb - cat & man with attitude.
Drove west to Auray - cramped but not bad, finally found tourist office.
Drove south through Locmariaquer to Kerpenhir - not bad but signs of suburbs.
Drove west through TRINITE-SUR-MER !!! port full of boats - to CARNAC-PLAGUE !!! YES!

Back to Musée d'Orsay (art nouveau, but only paintings) - just did bookstore.
Back over Seine to Musée des Beaux Arts (far end of Louvre) <<< this is the one: fashion, jewelry!
First ate lunch at Italian restaurant: onion soup, veal with marsala - sense of humor! I miss it.
