Modern, modernity.

I am fully aware that many people speak of our time, 2000, as "post-modern". The only post-modern that is clearly designated is in architecture. Even that seems a sham to me. In architecture, post-modern appears to be "modern" with extra flourishes. The term "post-modern" is also used to describe contemporary relativism, meaning: content is determined by the location of the speaker, (context). This is really "modern". It just took the entire 20th century for the ideas of Franz Boaz and Ludwig Wittgenstein to be synthesized and to reach academia.
