The Cal-40 "Far Far," racing under the burgee of the Cal Sailing Club, surfs a Molokai Channel swell at the finish of the 2005 Transpac yacht race from Long Beach to Honolulu. The Diamond Head lighthouse is in the background. Speed was just under 15 knots.

Far-Far finished fifth in a division of 14 of these nearly identical antique racing yachts. Built in the '60s and considered radical at the time for their surfing ability, the Cal-40 class once dominated offshore racing on both coasts and the Great Lakes.
