Rules for the 23rd Annual WELL Virtual March Madness Pool:

1) To enter the pool, submit your predictions for the main 63 games of the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament by posting in topic 1513 in the sports conference. (Obviously, you need to be a member of the WELL to do this. Click here to join.)
You do not need to predict the play-in games.

The brackets were posted on Sunday, March 13, 2016. (ish)
Entries must be posted by 12:20pm EST, Thursday, March 17, 2016.

Entry posts should be in this format:

EAST

1st round: (list winners of the 8 1st-round games)

2nd round: (list winners of the 4 2nd-round games)

3rd round: (list winners of the regional semis)

2nd round: (list winners of the 4 2nd-round games)

3rd round: (list winners of the regional semis)

Champion: (list W regional champion)

FINAL FOUR

Semis: (list winners of semifinals; E v MW, S v W)

Final: (list this year’s tournament winner)

Your submission must be posted in topic 1513 before the first game of the tournament starts play.

2) Your score for each correct prediction is as follows:

1st Round: 3 points, plus the seed number of the winner ( 4-19 pts)

2nd Round: 5 points, plus the seed number of the winner ( 6-21 pts)

3rd Round: 11 points, plus the seed number of the winner (12-27 pts)

4th Round: 19 points, plus the seed number of the winner (20-35 pts)

Semifinal: 30 points

Final: 40 points

If you predict all favorites, and you get all 63 games correct, you’ll score 640 points. If you predict every higher-seeded team to be upset, and predict the Final Four correctly as well, you could conceivably score 1260 points! That would be exciting!

That’s it. Make your picks in sports.1513, and be sure to boast about your prognosticative prowess as your teams make good.
