(photos by peoples and woodman)The cooking conference has been holding oyster fests since November 1994, when a half dozen of us gathered on Hearts Desire Beach at Tomales Bay and worked our way through 200 oysters. Oyster Fest 2001 was held at Miwok Meadows in China Camp State Park in Marin County, California. We had 36 oyster eaters and 950 oysters, as well as a few folks who came for the party, not the bivalves.
